About Me & Ben

Ben is a very special dog. Gentle, intelligent and nurturing. You may wonder about the nurturing? It is evidenced by some unique behaviours he has that I can claim no influence upon. More about that later in the 'Other Stories' section.

Ben and I met just over eleven years ago when I adopted him from the Humane Society in Collingwood, Ontario. He had been picked up as a 'stray' by Animal Control and would have been summarily euthanized were it not for the good people at the Humane Society. When we met it was love at first sight. Ben, who NEVER jumps up at anyone, ran up to me and leapt into my arms; something he has never done since. But it was an instant bond and one that has grown steadily stronger over the years. At the time his age was thought to be around 2 or 3 years, but we shall never really know. So now he is a genuine senior citizen, he just doesn't act that way.
