As you will by now know, we are having to delay our departure because a health check on Ben for his travel certification found a heart murmur last Thursday. The necessary ultrasound scan is now scheduled for Wednesday 12th and the report from the cardiologist will be in the following day. That will allow for the correct prescription to be dispensed and Ben and I plan to hit the road on Friday.
Yesterday we did a bit of a trial run. It was not the intention. Ben eats a particular kibble and I decided I had better get additional supplies - one has to have unopened bags when crossing the US border. So down to Bradford we went - well over an hour from home. For the first time ever they did not have the 'senior formula' I require. They found some at another supplier in Alliston and helpfully [I thought] suggested I avoid the highways and go cross country to get there. It took forever and then forever again from Alliston to home. Ben took it in stride, me not so much.
I did see we would pass close to "Utopia" and thought it would make for an interesting photo opportunity and story. Alas and alack I was to be denied - the road to Utopia was barricaded! So nothing much to report except our new anticipated date of departure. Meanwhile Ben and I are enjoying the pool on a daily basis. As you can see below, Ben does not appreciate me taking my laptop poolside - he will come and shove it with his nose and sometimes shove his paw on the keyboard to put me off. Maybe I'll let him write the next instalment!
